My Thoughts

This is everything I want in a space opera: a ragtag team of misfits & those rejected from society, epic stakes, and characters that you can root for. The action and the science behind everything in this story all makes sense.

The story is very character-driven & you will find yourself attached to the two main characters Adequin Rake and Cavalon Mercer. They both come from way different walks of life, but soon find that they have way more in common, especially when it comes to keeping the crew of the Argus alive. Besides the main characters you will meet some compelling minor characters that you may just end up crying over.

And if you thought The Last Watch had high stakes and kept you on your toes, you’re going to love The Exiled Fleet even more. You also might cry even more. I will not get over a certain death…or some other wild things that happen in this book. This is the kind of sci-fi I love to devour.

The characters somehow find a way to be even better in this book as we learn more about their pasts and just who they have become now. It’s gritty at times, but this ragtag team of misfits keeps hope alive and fights for humanity while humanity does not seem to care. It is nonstop in this one.

If you loved The Expanse, you will love this. If you loved this, you will love The Ambit’s Run series.

The Last Watch: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
