⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5

I am a sucker for a found family, and this book has a scrappy bunch of ex-military criminal misfits shoved to the edges of space. Forced to come together and to fight against the very organization that put them there. To save the universe and themselves in the process.

I was pulled in by the characters, the depth and characterization of them just grabbed me. I fell in love with the side characters which is always a dangerous thing when it comes to books. All of the characters backstories are compelling and engaging, but the character deaths hit you so much harder because of it.

This is an easy to get into sci-fi series. It’s sci-fi but it centres around these criminals who are just trying to survive and in doing so become unlikely heroes. It’s got physics, timey-whimey stuff, and action.

I’ve read two books in this series so far and have her other standalone on my shelf that I need to get to (story of my life). But what I’ve read so far I’ve throughly enjoyed. Honestly it kinda has a Guardians of the Galaxy feel to it.
