I have a standard where if a book makes me cry it immediately gets 5 stars… so here we are.
The Exiled Fleet is Book 2 in The Divide series and it hurt my feelings, but also solidified this series as a new favorite.
The stakes continue to increase throughout the book as our characters are faced with more hard decisions. The plot stays engaging throughout and, again, I found myself not really being able to put this one down after a certain point. There were some twists I didn’t fully see coming.
I also really love the way that we learn more about these characters throughout, getting their backstory on their time. I think it helped make the connection to the characters feel more authentic and also made me fall harder for certain ones... (I’m fine…)
Highly recommend picking this series up if that wasn’t obvious and also because I need more people to talk about (and cry about) this series with.
Oh, and I’m not allowed to have favorite characters anymore! (This will not stop me. Most of these characters are my favorites. I have a feeling more tears await in Book 3.)
TL;DR: Did I finish this book or did it finish me? (Yes.)
