The Divide Series Review from @AndisLilLibrary

Ahh! So humbled by these kind words on The Divide series from @andislillibrary! 💙🥰

(character limit woes — make sure to check out their full write up over on their post!)

Thank you so much @andislillibrary for reading and reviewing! I’m especially heartened by the bit about relationships, it’s something that’s so important to me in all the writing I do and I’m thrilled you connected with it 🥹💙

・・・

I have read SO MANY bangers in the sci-fi genre lately, and these female authors have made me re-fall in love with the genre. I’ll make posts for all of them individually but to start it off, @jsdewes

I read the first two books of The Divide trilogy back-to-back, in audio format. I was so immediately in love with the series that I bought the whole trilogy in physical format when I was barely halfway through the first book. I was that confident that this would be a 5-star series for me. And I was RIGHT!

The stakes start off so high, and only get higher. The character working in this series needs to be studied and taught in school because, oh my god, these characters and their quirks and their flaws and their development and their various relationships!! Every single character feels so real, so deeply thought-out, that these could very well be real people from the future who travelled back in time to share their stories with the author.

This brings me to the relationships. There’s not much romance to speak of, but this series has more deep and true and believable love than a lot of romance books I’ve read. The platonic love, the deep respect and understanding, the bonds these characters have created through the events they’ve survived are all so well written. The way that they are constantly fighting for each other is just so heartwarming and beautiful.

And finally, the sci-fi elements themselves! When I think of sci-fi, I think of it happening in space, I think of aliens, I think of fancy futuristic technology, and I think of physics not working quite the way we think it does. This series ticks every single one of those boxes!! The scientific concepts feel very advanced but believable, which is very important. I love when technology has at least a little bit of real science to back it up, and this series has it in spades. Things are explained enough to make it seem real, but not so much that you feel like you are sitting in a college physics lecture. It’s the perfect balance.

Overall, this was absolutely a 5⭐️ series for me that I am VERY grateful Libby recommended to me based on my reader profile 🎉
