Reading Quest Âť The Stolen Throne by David Gaider

Yaaaaayyyyy 👏👏👏

The Stolen Throne is one of my all time favorite books, and I almost died of excitement in B&N when I saw this epic hardcover edition 😍 (My husband can attest. There was much squeeing. I may have startled innocent book shoppers.)

I had my paperback signed by David Gaider at SDCC a few years ago. It was total serendipity—I had no idea he (or even Bioware) was going to be there, and just happened to have two of his books in my suitcase. 📚

He asked who my favorite DA character was, but I was so nervous my mind went totally blank, so I just said Alistair for some reason?? 🤷‍♀️ No hate on Alistair, but the real answer is either Loghain or Flemeth. 😈

Have you ever had the chance to meet one of your favorite writers? Were you as awkward as I was? 😂

Though I tend to give Fallout 4 the credit for inspiring my writing career, Dragon Age is really just as much to blame. Dragon Age II was the first IP I wrote fan fiction for back in 2014! ⚔️ I remember trying to explain to one of my friends how much FUN I was having, and it really rekindled the love for fiction writing I had when I was younger.

And then I read this book. This boooook. 😭 Let’s just say, it taught me a serious lesson on how I should be handling “villains.” (As a stand alone I can’t speak for it, but in context with Dragon Age: Origins it’s.just.so.perfect.)
